Sydneysider Natasha David explored many avenues of assistance to overcome the debilitating depression and anxiety she experienced following her husband's suicide in 2005. Meditation, the Buteyko breathing technique and kinesiology were some of the tools she explored in her recovery from grief and heartbreak. The latter proved so successful in enabling her to release the stress and internalised emotions from the trauma of losing her husband that Natasha became a certified kinesiology practitioner.
Natasha advocates meditation as a method to calm the distracting chatter that occurs in our heads during times of stress or trauma, known as 'monkey mind' in Buddhist teachings.
The cumulative result of these practices delivered Natasha to the point where she could write about her painful and difficult story with detachment and compassion. She believes love and empathy can overcome any trauma and can help bring understanding for those in pain and suffering.
